THE USE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN TEACHING ENGLISH TRANSLATION

This research aimed to know the improvement of students’ translation skills through Authentic Materials at fifth semester English Department. Pre-experimental design was used in this with population consist 180 students and applied purposive sampling technique chosen 30 were taken as samples. It employed six meetings (one meeting for pre-test, four treatment, one post-test). The instrument form test News into Indonesia result showed that authentic materials learning had good impact competence. use effective improve provide feedback ability UNISMUH Makassar. results show value t-test is greater 7.774 sig 0.000. shows news text significantly achievement suggest using translation.
